• CABINET OF WONDERS - THE GASTON-LOUIS VUITTON COLLECTION

With more than one thousand objects and documents, this new book pays homage to Gaston-Louis Vuitton, an ‘unrepentant collector’, with wide interests and voracious curiosity.

A collector since his childhood, Gaston-Louis Vuitton, who belonged to the third generation of the Vuitton family, accumulated hundreds of objects from far and wide.

Gaston-Louis’s three principal hobbies were books, gardening and photography. A captain of industry with eclectic tastes, his imagination was fed by colourful geometric window displays, realising his clients’ most extravagant desires, and initiating collaborations with artists, sculptors, illustrators and decorators of the Art Deco period."

With more than one thousand objects and unpublished documents, this is a cabinet of curiosities in book form, revealing the passions of an indefatigable traveller (Exotica), a scrupulous inventor (Scientifica), a meticulous craftsman (Artificialia), and an erudite bibliophile (Mirabilia).

Edited by Patrick Mauriès, with texts by John Banville, Stephen Bayley, Alberto Manguel, Delphine Saurat, Pierre Senges, this book is available in Louis Vuitton stores worldwide, and in bookstores from September 2017.

  • LOUIS VUITTON UNVEILS ITS RENOVATED STORE AT LEE GARDENS

Louis Vuitton invites its clients on a journey of discovery in the new Lee Gardens store, filled with new emotions and experiences in a setting surrounded by authenticity and tradition.

The historical significance of the location is highlighted by two photographic prints showcased in the Women’s Ready-to-Wear area.  The first print features the Lee Gardens Hotel which was completed in 1971 and demolished in 1994.  The second depicts Causeway Bay’s Lee Gardens Hill in the 1920s; where at the foot of the Hill was the glamourous Lee Theatre, which became the spiritual home of Cantonese Opera, as well as Hong Kong’s premier performing arts venue through most of the 20th century.

The store – situated in the main shopping district of Causeway Bay and recognizable through its striking and emblematic lit Damier pattern glass facade – invites clients to browse and discover the full Women’s and Men’s universe of ready-to-wear, leather goods, accessories, fragrance, jewellery, watches and shoes.
